Conservation fatigue isn’t nearly as much fun as birding. Nice article, thanks for drawing our attention to the book, which I should read before making informed comments!
Forget the conservation issues for a day, birding is fun, satisfying and keeps you in touch with the real world. Birding is you & life, in the moment, in the big wide world.
Conservation issues can be very hard work and thouroughly depressing, and conservation isn’t anything without social outcomes.
Birding can be enjoyable and good for physical & mental health too.
